FEACO (European Federation of Management Consultancies Associations) developed a technique of management of quality of consulting services, which involves three levels:

A – basic level – focused on the development of quality policy of advisory services;

B – adherence to the parameters – directional control of the consultation process at all stages;

C – total quality management – to focus on training consultants and developing their professional skills.

Each Association develops standards for quality consulting firms activities. Before you start cooperation with a consultant company, a client should review these standards. The client should also remember that the liability of consultants for substandard work may not exceed the amounts received by the consultants from the client.

The consultants are not involved in the ongoing activities of the client and cannot be responsible for unlawful, improper actions of their clients. Through its activities, the consultant proposes alternative solutions to the problem, but the choice and adoption of a decision belongs to the client.

The new company can provide the customer with additional guarantees (including financial), which are also specified in the contract. For example, the following basic guarantees of consultants for the selection of management personnel (recruiting):

  • strict adherence to all established contract terms;
  • liaison with the enterprise and within the warranty period, which is 2-3 months major recruitment agencies;
  • training specialist replacement in case of dissatisfaction or withdrawal of a candidate (for free or refund part of the funds received);
  • replacement specialist as soon as possible;
  • assistance in solution of the problems.

Often, the quality of advice refers to the quality of the result because the customer always needs the desired result and never – process. But it should be remembered that the result of the consulting project is a product of efforts of two parties: the client and the consultant. The client has the opportunity to influence the quality of counseling no less than a consultant.
